REMOVING YOUR GAS TANK
There are many reasons why you might need your underground or above-ground gas tank removing. It may have been damaged or hit by a vehicle or a falling tree, or you may have been connected to the mains supply network. At Technogaz, we can remove your old tank safely.
RESTORING GAS TANKS SAFELY
We inspect all tanks against a check-list, which includes compliance with safety standards. If a tank fails our checks, we destroy it so that it cannot be used again.
The gas tank restoration process works as follows:
- Water test: we fill the tank with water to check the tank’s mechanical resistance against pressure.
- Sanding: we remove the paintwork to expose the bare metal.
- Replacement of accessories: we replace the tap, valve and gauge.
- Painting: we apply a primer coat then a polyurethane topcoat.
- Repressurisation: we repressurise the tank with gas to detect any leaks.
- Return to the customer: we drain the air then return the tank to the customer.
We pay particular attention to ensuring that all tanks returned to customers are as-new (in similar condition to a brand-new tank).
